Plasma Fibroblast

Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment to shrink and tighten loose skin by targeting the fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are collagen and protein producing cells within the dermis (skin).

The treatment involves a pen like device that delivers high frequency electric current to form ‘carbon crusts’. The plasma tip doesn’t actually touch the skin, but forms micro injury to the skin. This stimulates fibroblast activity and causes tissue regeneration and contraction (tightening) achieving a more lifted and youthful look.

Whilst the skin can be noticeably tighter immediately, it continues to improve over the following 12 weeks. Results can be achieved after just one treatment but further treatments may be required depending on your skin and your goal.

This treatment can be done anywhere on the face and body including common areas of concern such as:

PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds, tanning injections and spray tans for at least 2-4 weeks before treatment.

  • Use SPF 50 daily 2 – 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker skinned and tan easily.

  • Avoid any other treatments to the area such as chemical peels, laser or microneedling for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION:

  • Keep the area clean and dry for the first 48 hours. After this the area can be cleaned with lukewarm water, but avoid any products on the area for a further 5 days.

  • There may be some mild to moderate swelling to the area treated, especially around the eyes. This normally subsides 1 – 5 days post procedure.

  • It is normal for the area to feel tight and dry.

  • Avoid exfoliants, retinoids and other harsh skincare products to the area for at least 2 weeks post procedure, or until fully healed as this can cause irritation.

  • Do not touch the treated area.

  • Do not pick the scabs - Allow the scabs to fall off themselves. When the skin is fully healed, the scabs will naturally fall off. Picking and removing the scabs can increase the risk of scarring. Rubbing or scratching at the skin will result in irritation and affect the healing process. This is usually around 7 days however this can be up to 2 weeks.

  • Do not apply makeup until the area has fully healed- Covering up healing skin can result in infection. It can also result in a delayed healing process or even promote scarring. Many makeup products also have chemical ingredients that can cause issues in the healing process. This is particularly important for the first 12 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid exercising or heat such as sauna, steam room and hot showers for 48 hours following your treatment. This can cause unnecessary inflammation and discomfort.

  • Avoid sun exposure as much as possible to the area and wear SPF50 for the next 12 weeks. This should already be worn daily.

  • Men should avoid shaving the area until fully healed.

  • Avoid any other treatments to the area whilst the skin is healing.
