Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti wrinkle injections are injections of small amounts of botulinum toxin administered to the muscles in the face that cause your skin to crease and form wrinkles.

The toxin relaxes the muscles which smooths the skin, reducing and preventing wrinkles and fine lines. Anti wrinkle injections are the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal and prevention of wrinkles. It is very safe, effective and affordable.

The procedure usually takes approximately 30 minutes including a consultation. There is no downtime required meaning it can be conveniently fit in around your busy working day. Whilst results start to take effect immediately, they become more visible over the course of the following two weeks.

A follow up appointment will be arranged two weeks after your treatment to review and discuss if any tweaks need to be made. As the treatment takes 14 days to fully work, top ups will not be done before this time. You then have a further 2 week window to have any top ups or adjustments.

AFTERCARE:

Following your Botulinum Toxin treatment there is advice to adhere to that will help optimise the results of your treatment.

The 4 Hour Rule:

Try to exercise your treated muscles for the first hour after your Botox treatment (this will work the injection into your muscles), but stop after the first hour.
Do not lie down for 4 hours after treatment.
Avoid any exposure to a sauna, hot baths / showers or tanning for 4 hours.
Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours.
Keep head upright if picking anything up from floor or using your phone.
Do not drink alcohol, eat spicy foods or exercise for 4 hours.
Do not rub the treated area or have a facial for at least 24 hours.
It is also worth noting - you may experience a mild headache after the Botox treatment, if this does happen you may take Paracetamol as needed.
Do not take - (either before or after treatment) Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Nurofen or other anti-inflammatory as this may increase any bruising. There is a risk of bruising. If this does occur, it will only be temporary and can be covered with makeup.
